Northwest India will get relief from severe cold from January 19, know IMD's forecast


The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has said that the cold wave conditions will end from January 19 due to two western disturbances. Due to which many areas of North India will get relief. Explain that the minimum temperature in the national capital has dropped to 1.4 degree Celsius.



New Delhi, Agency. Weather Update Today: The outbreak of severe cold continued in North and North West India on Monday. The minimum temperature in many parts of the country has been recorded between one to three degrees Celsius. At the same time, with icy northwesterly winds coming from the Himalayas in the plains, the region is likely to get even colder in the next two days.


The condition of cold wave will end from January 19

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has said that the cold wave conditions will end from January 19 due to two western disturbances. Due to which many areas of North India will get relief. Cold wave to severe cold wave conditions prevailed in many parts of Delhi and parts of Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh, the IMD said in a statement.


India Meteorological Department scientist RK Jenamani told that with severe cold wave conditions in Delhi, the minimum temperature in the national capital has dropped to 1.4 degree Celsius. The temperature is likely to remain like this for the next 2 days, further decline is not likely. The temperature may increase from January 18.



The India Meteorological Department said the minimum temperature was one to three degrees Celsius in many parts of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi, northwest and east Rajasthan. At the same time, three to five degrees Celsius have been recorded in the remaining parts of Rajasthan. Besides, Churu, located near the Thar desert, recorded a minimum temperature of minus 2.5 degrees Celsius, the lowest in the plains on Monday.


Temperature dropped in Delhi

Please tell that the minimum temperature in Delhi's Safdarjung has dropped to 1.4 degree Celsius, which is the lowest since January 1, 2021. At the same time, 1.6 degree Celsius has been recorded on Lodhi Road. Apart from this, Ayanagar in southwest Delhi recorded a minimum temperature of 2.8 degrees Celsius, Ridge in central Delhi recorded 2 degrees Celsius and Jaffarpur in west Delhi recorded 2.2 degrees Celsius.
