Shopkeepers will also get Paytm-like sound alert for payments on Google Pay

Google, associated with online search, has started the facility of giving information to merchants through soundbox for payments on its Google Pay app in India. This is similar to the sound alerts for payments received by merchants on Paytm and PhonePe. The Google Pay device has in-built speakers and an LCD display. It supports various languages.

The device is being made available to select merchants at no extra cost. Earlier, merchants receiving payments through Paytm, PhonePe and BharatPe get notification of payment received through Soundbox. As reported by TechCrunch, Google Pay has brought its own soundbox. It is being offered to select merchants in North India including New Delhi. There is a QR code on the front of the Google Pay Soundbox which will be linked to the phone number registered with the merchant's bank. Customers will be able to scan this QR code and make payments through UPI. After payment is made, information about the payment amount will be received from the soundbox.

Google Pay has introduced new fraud detection techniques to make digital payments more secure. This will alert users with multiple levels of warnings about suspicious activities in their accounts. The company said that it is using machine learning to detect fraudulent transactions.

Google had told that it has added new security features for its UPI-based payment app. The company said that the app will use advanced methods to analyze the transaction patterns of millions of users and users will be alerted about fraudulent activities or suspicious requests for payment. Users will be warned in their chosen language. In some cases, vibration will also be used on the app to grab the user's attention. Apart from this, Google Pay has started a new feature so that users can easily see the record of their transactions. The company has also made upgrades to its Files app on Android. Users will be able to easily access authentic digital documents on DigiLocker from the Google app. Documents stored in this app will be secure on the device and can only be accessed using a unique lock screen authentication from DigiLocker.
